Precision, Production and Model Engineering

3D Wax Printing and Casting

Stanier Engineering is based in Auckland, New Zealand and operates from a 200sqm engineering workshop equipped with both CNC and manual machines. There is also a large CAD dedicated office equipped with Solidworks and a 3D Systems Projet Wax printer. The workshop is designed to undertake single bespoke machining work or small production runs to a high standard of accuracy and finish. Primarily aimed at the Model Engineer, other commercial work can also be accepted. Stanier has clients worldwide and has a reputation to assist in design to ensure that the product suits the intended purpose.

Work can be accepted from either drawings or CAD files. You can upload your CAD print file (.slt format) from our CAD file Upload Page that can be accessed by clicking here.

Stanier specialises in producing highly detailed and accurate parts for 5” and 71⁄4” gauge model locomotives both either fully machined or a set of castings and laser cut parts for self machining and assembly. Castings are produced using the lost wax process, from 3D wax originals printed on a 3D Systems Projet 3510 CPX Plus production printer.

The company is happy to offer customers the ability to print single or multiple wax patterns from their own drawings, and either supply as a wax original or cast in metal.

The workshop is run by Mike Jack who has considerable experience in model engineering over the last 33 years.
